Gem On Jewelry sells custom-designed jewelry that is casual and elegant, and crafted from hand-selected pearls and gemstones.
Gem On Jewelry’s original web store was built in WordPress. It loaded very slowly, and was plagued with technical issues. Their customers couldn’t even check out, and the company’s WordPress developers weren’t responding. Owner and Jewelry Designer Carol Prokop decided to migrate her store to Shopify—a worry-free ecommerce platform with awesome support.
Carol set up a project request in Storetasker. I consulted with her over the phone, and we developed a detailed migration plan. I recommended she use the Turbo theme by Out of the Sandbox, and then set it up for her. I have a lot of experience with WordPress-based ecommerce sites, and I have a streamlined system for efficiently moving products and site content from WordPress to Shopify.
I consulted with Carol, and we reorganized her product and collections to make it easier for her visitors to browse her beautiful jewelry by gem and product type. Now her website loads much faster than before, is easier for her customers to navigate, and Carol can focus on her product, instead of on technical glitches.
Blair Massey, my colleague and an excellent graphic designer, created a new logo for Gem On Jewelry, designed the home page layout, and created custom collection images for the project. The result is a fresh, elegant site that beautifully complements Carol’s stunning jewelry designs.
